Savanna Swimming Pool
Opened in 1975, the Savanna Swimming Pool is located at 500 Cragmoor Avenue, attached to the West Carroll High School. The indoor pool, measuring 42' x 75', is open daily from 11 AM - 7 PM for open swim, lap swim, and water exercise sessions. For more information and hours, call 815-273-3887.
The pool was built after the outdoor pool at Helle Park was deemed no longer viable in 1972. Spearheaded by the Savanna Junior Woman’s Club, local citizens raised public support to pass a referendum for a new indoor pool. In 1975, the Savanna School Board donated the necessary property, allowing the $300,000 pool to be constructed next to the high school. Initially, the pool operated under a joint agreement between the Park District and School District, with the Park District managing summer operations and the School District using it during the school year. In 2004, the School Board voted to transfer year-round operations to the Park District.
